“And when I do, oh, will you forgive me?, If I tell you that I’m sorry, would you stay here with me?, going round in circles, how do you think it’s gonna end?, I’m gonna ruin your night again”
Sorcha just plain rocks.
You have homework for this post! I want you to tell me what your favorite book is! I’m looking into forcing myself to slow down enough to read an hour a day. I have a huge backstock of books, but reading books recommended by friends because they mean something to them is more fun.!
So, tap in and drop your favorite book in the comments! Look at us! Interaction!
Be good, do good.
oh gosh, this is always the hardest question for me. How to pick just one?!?
But also, I haven’t read in months! I need to get back in that routine myself, so perhaps I’ll use this as inspiration.
I should give you an answer to your question though, so let me think…
You also know and have read many of my favorites already. And I also think a favorite book is a reflection of who you are in many ways, and as I glance over some of mine, I’m recognizing how much I’ve changed, learned, and hopefully grown and evolved since I found those books and they resonated with me.
Okay. I’m going to give you a loosely accurate, likely error-riddled chronological list of favorites as I recall them in this moment. A list of the favorites of the past versions of me.
Where The Wild Things Are
The Shining
The Hobbit
Romeo and Juliet
Great Expectations
Tao Te Ching
Pride and Predjudice
A Very Long Engagement
Hyperspace
For Whom The Bell Tolls
The Princess Bride
A Heartbreaking Work Of Staggering Genius
The Perks of Being A Wallflower
The Timetraveler’s Wife
The Book Thief

Dracula
Peter Pan
Harry Potter
The Demon Haunted World
Altered Carbon
Snow Crash
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck
The Collected Sherlock Holmes Stories
Ready Player One
Ender’s Game
The Ocean at The End of the Lane
I’m sure I’m missing so many favorites. This is only the list that fell out of my addled, just-waking brain. But hopefully you’ll find one in there that connects with you.

I recently read Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano and loved it. It was slow, and some may say boring, but I read on and loved it when I was finished. The book loosely resembles Little Women.
This week during book club, someone brought up the book Trust by Hernan Diaz, and I thought it sounded like something you’d be into— Historical fiction, taking place (in part) in the 1920s. The book is divided into four fictional parts: A Novel (Bonds), an incomplete autobiography (My Life), a completed memoir (A Memoir, Remembered), and a diary (Futures). The reader must determine what is the truth.
