#206 of 366: Blunt Blowin’, Lil Wayne

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Weezy. This is a fantastic offering from him.

“Stunna, I got ’em, I’m back on them bitches, all about my riches, my name should be Richard, cut the bullshit out, I’m Edward with the scissors, life is a choice, and death is a decision, times have changed, but fuck it get a new watch, I still got the vision like a line between two dots

That highlighted part might be my favorite lyric of the whole song. Just love the way he delivers it.

May we all go through today with the confidence and a slice of swagger like that of Lil Wayne.

Go get it. No more waiting.

Be good, do good.

I really enjoy the vibey opening guitar riff this song kicks off with. I think the tempo of it is dialed into a sweet-spot.

“I need my legs to influence the common sense not fitting in my mind, I know that look upon your face, I’m a disgrace, this happens all the time, so if you ever need to find, someone to get along with every time, don’t take another chance with me, I’m not the man I’m supposed to be, but you’re so fucking gorgeous”

Whatcha gonna do for yourself today? Now that you’ve thought that thought, might as well go ahead and do it! 😀

Be good, do good!

#202 of 366: Hold On, Brooke Annibale

The first few lines of this sound feel like tip-toeing to me. Or how a cat walks down a hallway. Lithe.

“You remind me, that there’s not enough time, for it to slow down, undefined, we put our flame upon ice, watch it burn out, all I want to do, all I want to do, feel the ache in my hands to hold on to you”

Are you longing for anything? Check in with yourself.

Be good, do good.

#201 of 366: Ruin Your Night, Sorcha Richardson

“And when I do, oh, will you forgive me?, If I tell you that I’m sorry, would you stay here with me?, going round in circles, how do you think it’s gonna end?, I’m gonna ruin your night again”

Sorcha just plain rocks.

You have homework for this post! I want you to tell me what your favorite book is! I’m looking into forcing myself to slow down enough to read an hour a day. I have a huge backstock of books, but reading books recommended by friends because they mean something to them is more fun.!

So, tap in and drop your favorite book in the comments! Look at us! Interaction!

Be good, do good.

#200 of 366: Circaidian Rhythm, Silversun Pickups

Two-hundred!? How is that even real?! My gosh this year has flown. Take time to smell the flowers! Man oh man.

“Another night alone, temporary dreamin’, I came in through your window, sleep-walkin’, standing arm and arm, still so out of reach, there’s nowhere left to go, so stay with me, stay with me”

Here’s another must-see live band if you get a chance! You will not be sorry. They put on a fantastic show.

I want you to be good, and do good, today. Love ya.

#199 of 366: All Caps, Madvillain, Madlib, MF DOOM

Love the sample they used for this track, and overall it’s a smooth flow the whole way.

“And you know it like a poet, like baby doll, I bet she tried to say she gave me her all, she played ball, all bets off!, the Villain got the dice rigged, and they say he accosted the man with the sliced wig, allegedly; the investigation is still ongoing, in this pesky nation he gots the best con flowin’, the pot doubles, now they really got troubles, Madman never go [pop] like snot bubbles”

HAHAHA! Love that ending.

Have a great day!

Be good, do good.

#197 of 366: Love Again, Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa is a vibe. Her music is impossible not to dance to. Love that sample of 1932’s “My Woman” by Al Bowlly with Lew Stone and his Montseigneur Band. You may recognize it from being sampled in 1997’s “Your Woman” by White Town.

“I never though that I would find a way out, I never thought I’d hear my heart beat so loud, I can’t believe there’s something left in my chest anymore, But goddamn, you got me in love again, I used to think that I was made out of stone, I used to spend so many nights on my own, I never knew I had it in my to dance anymore, but goddamn, you got me in love again”

Shake your hips to this one.
Be good, do good.
