I love this cover. There’s something about how Jenn sings the title phrase that gets me. I also love that deep synth that’s there throughout. It’s a cool off-brand cover of the original rock hit.

I feel like a very young 42. I still play video games. I feel like I have 400 friends at Momot ages 4-11 or so. I still have some growing up to do, but imma do it on my own terms and in the way that makes me feel like myself still.

This song seems like an anthem for people feeling like that. Any other millennials out there feeling this way? 😀

As I’ve mentioned in other posts featuring her, Rodrigo has her finger on the pulse of relationships, especially so for Gen-Z I think. Her song writing resonates though, I think with older listeners like me as well.

It all seems authentic to me…and true to what even the experience in HS for me was. Her debut album, Sour, was excellent. Check out how many listens she has for that one.

The tempo of this song is what grabbed me. I love the energy it has.

Coming off that Elle King song, you can hear some similarities here in boygenius’ work. These three amazing voices we’ve together in a such a rich tapestry of sound I can’t help but get nostalgic hearing their work too. It cuts through scar tissue to the soft stuff.

As I mentioned in a former post about Zach Bryan song, I grew up with my parents playing and signing country, bluegrass, and gospel music. It will forever be in my blood and make me nostalgic.

Something about this song brought me back to those childhood years of sound in my home.

I had no idea until today that the song title is a breed of chicken. Friendly and docile, just like I like ’em. Not like that hell-beast rooster that chased me around my Uncle Bills house. 😀
