#272 of 366: The River – piano, Angie McMahon

“And I got Mary pregnant, and man, that was all she wrote, and for my nineteenth birthday, I got a union card and a wedding coat, we went down to the courthouse, when the judge put it all to rest, no wedding day smiles, no walk down the aisle, no flowers or wedding dress, that night we went down to the water, and into the river we dived, ooh, down to the river we’d ride”

I think Angie does great justice to this Springsteen cover. I like to think he’d like it if he heard it. It has the same soul.

Be good, do good.

#271 of 366: Got It Like That – Eleven:11 Remix, Pell, G-Eazy

I absolutely love Pell’s intro to this song.

Who you know got it like that?, who you know run it make rappers get lapped, who you know got it like that? spend what I make but I get it right back, then give it right back, work ten to ten I’m committed like that, but I might celebrate cause we winning like that, we been working the streets for a minute like that”

Pell’s one of my favorite Hip Hop finds from last year. He’s on of the most creative new rappers out there. Hope he blows up.

Be good, do good.

#270 of 366: Crush Culture, Conan Gray

Love the melodies and the mix of this song. One I can’t help moving to. You? Did you sway a lil? 🙂

This song is kind of like a cloud. We’re light a fluffy like cotton in the first fifty seconds of the song and then quickly become a thundercloud for the next 20 or so and then back to the softness. It’s a nice wave to ride.

Hope you float through this weekend, friend.

Be good, do good.

#269 of 366: Top Down, Swizz Beats

Now that fall is here, and it’s been dark and dismal in the ‘Burgh, I wanted to find an anthem for tomorrow being Friday.

I dug around the playlist and came up with this one.

Coolest part is right in the beginning and end where Swizzy drops “wherever you are, SHINE, whoever you are, SHINE. Great message and intention to set for tomorrow.

Every time I hear this song I can’t help but move. Dance into your weekend! SHAKE THE HATERS OFF YA!

Be good, do good.

#268 of 366: All The Stars, Kendrick Lamar, SZA

Love the R&B vibe to this one, and our first entry from SZA on the list. She’s got a fantastic R&B sound and I loved what I heard in her catalog today! Give her a listen if that’s your vibe! What a voice.

I’ve also been getting to Kendrick’s back catalog and man is it good. Some of the best Hip Hop has to offer.

Be good, do good.
