#194 of 366: Highest Building, Flume, Oklou

I obviously have a proclivity for beat drops and electronica. Flume is great at both.

“Never thought I would realize it, you could never really fight it, every little piece of me that lies in you, will never disappear, never thought I would realize it, you could never really fight it, every little piece of me that lies in you, will never disappear”

Have to get a tooth pulled today. (Tomorrow as I write). Probably gonna be a hermit day.

Don’t be afraid to take one of those here and there if you need it! Sometimes we just have to be the stone that let’s moss grow on it.

Be good, do good.

#193 of 366: This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody), LAUREL

What a gorgeous guitar up there! It stands out in this song with a beautiful sound throughout. LAUREL’s delivery is her typical rough at times/cooing at times and it’s lovely. It is QUITE the different take from the original!

Did you go get ice cream the other day? If not, go today! 🙂

Be good, do good.

#191 of 366: Drivin, Willow Avalon

It occurred to me that we blew right past the halfway point at Post 183. I don’t remember saying anything. I can’t believe we’re still here!

My favorite part of this song is the interplay of the synths, steel guitar(?), and percussion (guessing on instruments) is great here and I really love how it helps the song seem to meld into different genres at different points.

“I remember your eyes of blue, they saw right through my soul, the way you say my name, it always leaves me wanting more, but you took your time, you wasted mine leading me on, saying you couldn’t be, couldn’t be with just one, so, I’m drivin’ down the highway, thinking of you, babe, smoking menthols to ease my brain, yeah, I’m drivin’ down the highway, thinking of you babe, smoking menthols to ease my brain”

I think at some point, you should go get ice cream today. 🙂

Be good, do good.

#189 of 366: Superfly, Raury

The guitar sets the tone on this one. Love the strum pattern and sound! Let this song set the vibe of your Saturday. Hope you and yours are doing well!

“Fly, I do this for life, king of the clouds there’s a ribbon in the sky, drive by anyone that tell me plan B should’ve been Plan A, B people don’t see when you’re superfly, features extent-iary definition, you can get a dictionary, everybody in the air like love in February, don’t believe it exist so maybe we are afraid, kids these days crazy off the drugs, kids these crazy off the drugs, know the world can already can nobody tell us shit, and we never get together so the bars never split, when you’re livin’ in the city you don’t want to be a mess, so we get used to being a-lone, pack of cigarillos, a smooth bottle of Patron, a world where I can chill with no plan to stay long, cause im’ma live it up until I die, superfly”

Be good, do good!

#188 of 366: You Should Be Hated Here, Carissa’s Weird

This is some dope sounding indie rock in the vein of Death Cab For Cutie and has a little bit of a Jimmy Eat World ballad sound to it. I think that’s why I like it.

“I’m only here to fall apart, you’ve been angry from the start, but I know these train wrecks happen all the time, and everything that no one knows, you should be hated here by now, this was the prettiest like that I told tonight, it’s been the prettiest lie that I told all year”

Enjoy the sound!

#187 of 366: NDN Kars – Remix, The Halluci Nation, Keith Secola

Ever wonder what Native American music might sound if you put a Beach Boys spin on it?

This just seems like a summer romp song! Just trying to get to the party, man!

Love this band, it’s energy, and the song! It’s a shorty, so here’s the whole song:

“I’ve been driving in my Indian Car, to the pound of the wheels drumming in my brain, my dash is dusty, my plates are expired, please Mr. Officer, let me explain, I’ve to make it to a Pow-Wow tonight, I’ll be singing 49, down by the river side, looking for a sugar, riding in my Indian Car, my car is dented, the radiator steams, one headlight don’t work, the radio can scream, I got a sticker, it says; “Indian Power”, I stuck it on my bumper, that’s what holds my car together, were on the circuit of an Indian dream, we don’t get old, we just get younger, when we’re flying down the highway, riding in our Indian Cars”

Be good, do good!

#186 of 366: You’re Somebody Else, flora cash

Some beautiful guitar in the beginning of this one! These two are so so good at the melancholy sound.

“You were the better part, of every bit of beating heart that I had, whatever I had, I finally sat alone, pitch black flesh and bone, couldn’t believe that you were gone, well, you look like yourself, but you’re somebody else, only it ain’t on the surface, well you talk like yourself, no, I hear someone else though, now you’re making me nervous”

Hope you’re having a good one, whenever this post/song finds you!

Be good, do good.
